AlphaSet balance differs from my exchange?
Why is there a difference?
The AlphaSet dashboard and your exchange data are not synced in real time. The dashboard updates periodically (every few hours), while your exchange is always up to the second. So a small, temporary difference is completely normal.
Common causes:
- Sync lag: the dashboard takes a moment to catch up with the latest prices and balances.
- Open positions: portfolio value moves constantly while positions are open; the dashboard and the exchange may capture two slightly different moments.
- Rebalancing in progress: while the Engine places orders, the two balances can diverge for a few seconds, then line up again.

Golden rule: always trust the exchange
Your funds always stay on your own exchange. AlphaSet never holds your assets - so the true, accurate balance is always the one shown in your exchange account. The dashboard is just a reflection, and it will catch up.
How long does syncing take? How to reconcile
- Open your exchange app (BingX / Bybit / Hyperliquid for Alpha Crypto, DNSE - the Entrade X app - for Alpha Stock VN) and note the real balance.
- Wait for the dashboard's next update cycle (a few hours) and compare again.
- Small differences usually disappear after the next sync.
"I just deposited/withdrew but the dashboard doesn't see it"
Some transfer types aren't automatically detected by the Engine, so the dashboard may not reflect them right away. Specifically, the dashboard may not automatically see:
- Internal transfers between wallets on the same exchange (e.g. Spot ↔ Futures/Margin).
- Transfers between your main account and a sub-account when you've only connected the main account.
- Fiat deposits later converted to crypto - the Engine tracks your trading balance, not fiat flows.
In these cases your funds are still safe on the exchange - the dashboard just needs a manual resync. Note: a deposit may push your total over your plan's cap; if so, the Engine just manages up to the cap and the excess stays safely on your exchange, fee-free - see [[aum-caps-per-alpha]]. For how the Engine reacts when your balance changes, see [[deposit-withdraw-funds]].
When should I contact support?
- A meaningful and persistent difference (doesn't reconcile after several sync cycles).
- You just deposited or withdrew and the dashboard isn't updating after a reasonable time.
When you message support, tell them the number on AlphaSet and the number on your exchange, and the team will resync it quickly. See [[contact-support]].
